$5,000 College Scholarship for Students of Latino Descent

Fitness - Fashion/Gift

As a #CafeBusteloPartner I’m thrilled announce that Café Bustelo has launched its El Café del Futuro Scholarship once again in partnership with the Hispanic Association of Colleges and Universities (HACU).

If you’re a college-bound student or graduate student of Latino descent please KEEP READING because this year Café Bustelo is giving away a total of $100,000 in scholarship funds to 20 deserving Latino students. That could be YOU!

Watch my 1-minute video below to hear what it’s all about!

All twenty students selected will receive $5,000 each to go towards their college or graduate school tuition and educational expenses. To enter, you must meet the requirements of the scholarship (which I will link to below) and write a compelling essay about your Latino heritage, family and the community in which you grew up.

How have they impacted your desire and motivation to obtain a college degree? Additionally, you’ll need to thoughtfully describe what you intend to accomplish with your degree and how you will give back to your community. If you’re passionate about your studies and your Latino descent, this should be a piece of cake!

The requirements to enter and the instructions for the Latino heritage essay can be found RIGHT HERE!

I wish a scholarship like this had been around back when I was applying to schools, because I remember how fast college expenses can add up. School is expensive but your education is worth it and so important to your future.

When I was applying to schools, I remember checking the box for “Hispanic” on all my applications with immense pride. I was 2nd generation in my family to attend college, and I was truly excited to connect with other Latino students from the minute I opened my acceptance letter to Cornell University. My high school was great but I was among so few Latinos there. Going to a cosmopolitan university and finding a strong Hispanic community really shaped who I am today, and the things I believe in. I even credit it for my fantastic partnership and work with CafeBustelo.

Being connected to my heritage through my education has inspired me over the years to mentor other Hispanic students, take conversational classes in Spanish (to keep my accent and vocabulary fresh), and work with brands like Café Bustelo that give back to Latino American communities. I also aspire to do more bilingual TV and digital work. It’s actually a dream of mine, and something I’ve been working hard towards.

If you’re not a Latino student, please pass this information along to one! I don’t want ANYONE who qualifies to miss the chance to benefit from it. If you can, please also support the scholarship by stocking up on Café Bustelo limited edition art tins like the one I’m holding above. A percentage of the sales from these tins go toward the El Café del Futuro Scholarship.

Buena suerte to all who apply and mil gracias for passing this info along!

XO, Bianca Jade
