How to Dress for Wanderlust. 4 Looks Perfect for Yoga, Music Shows & Wandering Around!

Music

YOUR HOW TO FOR WANDERLUST

Get ready for the Wanderlust Festival this summer! If you love yoga and music you should plan a trip to a festival near you (or far from you!). I have put together a Wanderlust "musts" list for you....and, most importantly, a guide on how to to be perfectly dressed for it.

WHERE TO WANDERLUST

Here are the upcoming Wanderlust Festivals for the summer: Stratton, Vermont (June 20-23rd), Copper Mountain, Colorado (July 4-7th), Lake Tahoe, California (July 18-21st), Whistler, BC, Canada (August 1-4th) and Tremblant, QC, Canada (August 23-25th).

YOGA SESSIONS NOT TO MISS THERE

  • Sweat and Surrender Flow - Taught by Loren Bassett and Halle Becker. Music by DJ Drez spinning hip hop and world music tunes.
  • Beastie Yogi with MC Yogi and DJ Drez: This yoga class is basically 2 DJs spinning classic Beastie Boy songs and original b-boy samples mashed up with MC Yogi tracks. Beastie Boys + Yoga. I'm in!
  • The Grateful Dead Yoga Hour: Channel your inner hippie on the mat. Jerry Garcia passed away 17 yrs ago this summer but his music LIVES!

MUSIC & DJ'S YOU MUST CHECK OUT

  • Femi Kuti and Postive Force: This energetic Afro Beat music promises one big party of happy souls. Bring your peace fingers.
  • Moby is headlining in Colorado and Whistler. He's doing both DJ and acoustic sets--a little something for everybody!
  • Juan McClean is doing DJ sets and he's one of my favorite DJ's on the scene right now. If you want to dance, he's not to miss!

...AND NOW FOR THE FITNESS FASHION!!!

Here are 4 looks to help you show off both your yogi and rocker sides, and that make for an easy transition from the yoga mat to the dance floor!

1. The Chic Hippie Yogi

I'm, for the lack of a better word, in love with this yoga outfit from 15love. 15love is an awesome fitness apparel line that was designed to be colorful, fun and versatile. This X-Back Tank in a tie dye print is an ode to hippie style and is perfect for the boho Wanderlust vibe. In terms of fit and comfort, the 4-way stretch fabric and the super supportive shelf bra make this top both cute and comfy. I also love the cross-back strap detail. The matching Slim Capris are totally flattering and have a tie dye print at the waistband to keep you rocking a top to bottom  yoga boho chic style for the festival!

Throw on this adorbs Om Me Home jacket from Lululemon for chilly mornings heading over to a yoga session and keep it stashed in your bag for a walk home after a late night DJ set. I love the mesh venting in the back. This jacket will keep you cool even after an intense Vinyasa yoga or dance party.

Pair this look with an orange Festival Bag from Lululemon that's perf for stashing all your stuff from day to night. I mean, Lululemon named it the Festival Bag for a reason! And it perfectly matches my rubber encased Pure Balance orange water bottle from Lululemon.

2. Boho On-the-Go

This is a more transitional outfit if you plan on getting your om on and then hitting up the music events at the festival. A crochet tee like this Sunny Sidey Sweater from Roxy is the perfect cool layer that adds a dressier look after yoga and I think it looks super cute over this hot pink C9 by Champion sports bra and these grey Splits59 capris.

The Lululemon Swiftly Headband is a great way to get your sweat on in a vinyasa yoga class while keeping your tresses in place. It has an inner-grip that actually holds to your hair unlike so many styles that gradually slide out of place. Worried about wet or dirty ground interfering with your yoga practice at the festival? The Un Mat from Lululemon is perfect for Wanderlust since you can use it on  any surface and it's super light to carry around. As you can see, I like to match my mat and green just seems appropriate given every festival's natural surroundings.

3. The "I'm Just Hear to Wander" Look

Have you ever checked out what the fashion mags tell you to wear to a festival? A white silk one piece? 4 inch heels? A $1000 purse? I'm going to give you the real deal, Musique readers: don't even try to rock those looks at an outdoor concert. Be prepared for unpredictable weather, uneven surfaces, mud, sweltering sun, evening temperature drops and everything in between. This is my fail proof music-fest outfit when you are uncertain of the weather: short-shorts like these from 7 from All Mankind or these from Roxy with a cute bright top like this one from Madewell.

Always bring along a cute long sleeve shirt or sweater like this cute multicolor one that I'm rocking from Roxy or this Spring Revival Sweater from Roxy. Ditch your sandals or flip flops for a pair of cute booties like mine from DV by Dolce Vita or any of these Sam Edelman boots to protect your toes when standing in large crowds watching a show. For jewelry accessories, I'm wearing this cute, rubber Haute Mess Rubber Turnlock bracelet from Marc by Marc Jacobs.

4. The "Girl In A Cute Dress" Look

This is one cute flirty festival frock from Roxy and perfect for dancing the night away. I love wearing white and the fringe detail make me feel a little Stevie Nicks (minus the long flowing skirt). This dress is an early preview from Roxy but you can pull this one off too...or just belt a t-shirt dress you have hanging in your closet.

I paired it with my favorite booties and a sparkly, beaded belt from Anthropologie to accentuate my waist. I have to show off my figure after all those planks and downward dogs! I'm also obsessed with the macrame' bag I'm modeling from Roxy. It's the perfect size and comfortable, cross-body style for being at a music festival all day. I added a cute flower barrette for a pop of color. Wish you could see my neon orange mani that sealed this look!

BONUS: Your Travel Outfit That Gets You To Wanderlust & Back

The 15Love Essential Zip jacket and Lululemon backpack are stylish and great for travel whether you're driving or flying to Wanderlust.

FYI, I found all my fave travel accessories for Wanderlust at Lululemon. Don't they look so cute and cheery?

And last but not least, sometimes there's NO time to wash your beloved sports bra and it's impossible to make it look like new, especially when you're trying to impress all your new Yogi+Music friends. Here's my solution (minus the gross factor if you're a sweat monster): A sports bra with interchangeable straps!

15Love came up with this amazing idea for their sports bras and it's a great way to look like you are wearing a whole new sports bra because you can swap in a new color or printed strap.

Have you been to Wanderlust yet? Which is your favorite look?
