My good friend Jason owns a fabulous minimalist retreat in the Poconos called Alpine Cottage. The Poconos is a much loved part of Pennsylvania more accurately called the Pocono Mountain region. I was so excited to finally visit his home this Summer as a guest, after watching him literally rehab this entire house. You should've seen it when he bought it!
My photos really capture the essence of Alpine Cottage and our friend Jason's interior design esthetic. If you enjoy them, the good news is that Alpine Cottage is available for rent on AirBnb! I also made a video of the highlights from our stay, which features little Frida (my chihuahua). WATCH IT BELOW and then browse through my photos of Alpine Cottage. As you can probably imagine, it was the most perfect quarantine escape for a group of cabin fever'd New Yorkers.
Standing high above the tree tops, Alpine Cottage offers 180 degrees of open mountain views which can be enjoyed from one of the two outdoor decks, or from one of the 40 windows that light the home. Literally, every window offers a vibrant green forest view, and if you're lucky you might even seen a family of bears rolling by.
With high ceilings, soft adjustable lighting, and a very open feng-shui layout, it's a calming environment to relax and recharge in. There are fans throughout the home for cooling you down during the Summer but otherwise there's no AC and really no need during Fall and Winter months.
There's quick access to Skiing at Camel Back, Bushkill or Shawnee mountains, hiking or kayaking on the Delaware, ATV, Snowmobile and waterfall tours, zip lining, antique shopping or a visit to one of the two largest water parks on the East coast. But you might just wanna hunker down in the house and never leave!
The house has everything you need to ensure a relaxing and enjoyable stay. Including WIFI ;)
They're not pictured here but the house has 4 bedrooms, 2 baths and 1800sf on 1.1 acres of land.
The kitchen is divine to cook in and that view never gets old!
Even though we spent a good amount of time relaxing and grilling on the deck at Alpine Cottage, we did venture out for some fun. We went to Bushkill Falls, also known as the Niagara of Pennsylvania. I highly recommend this place for a gorgeous stair and ground hike (you'll see what I mean when you go!). It's dog friendly so bring your pooch :) Here's a shot of the park below, and as beautiful as it is, it really doesn't do the park justice. You have to see it with your own eyes.
Speaking of dog friendly, Alpine Cottage welcomes your pup. I think Frida might've been breaking the rules here though. NO DOGS ON THE COUCH! Ooops!
Let me know if you have any questions whatsoever! I can't wait to return to this gorgeous home and really hope you get a chance to visit as well.
