SKINCARE: What is Lumeca and Do I Need It?

Woman getting a skincare treatment using a laser wand. The treatment is called Lumeca.

I have hyperpigmentation on my face and there’s really only one way to entirely get rid of it in one quick wave of a laser wand called Lumeca. The type of hyperpigmentation I have is called Melasma, which people show signs of for all different kinds of reasons from heat sensitivity to fluctuating hormones during pregnancy. Any type of hyperpigmentation is a pain in the butt because the brown spotting or discoloration that appears can be very aggressive and challenging to remove, lighten or even cover up with makeup.

My Skincare Routine and Beauty Cabinet Reveal

Bianca Jade's face. Woman touching her chin with fingers.

I always say that in a different life I would've been a dermatologist because of my passion for skincare and affinity for beauty treatments. Earlier this year, in the late Spring of 2021, I decided to try Dr. Koo's Skincare collection and specifically a regimen for anti-aging, hyperpigmentation (aka melasma) and gentle exfoliation. It's safe to say this regimen was targeted for 40+ skin but I don't know, I feel like I would've used this exact combination of products back in my 20's too as my skin hasn't changed drastically. I've always had sensitive skin and dry skin.

My Hand Sanitizer Test. Born Basic For The Win!

BornBasic hand sanitizer in different sizes on a tabletop next to an aloe plant.

Now that hand sanitizer is a part of our every day lives, don’t you think we should put a little more thought into how we shop for it? At the beginning of the pandemic, I just grabbed whatever hand sanitizer I saw on a store shelf without much thought for the quality of product inside the bottle. But after 6 months of rubbing sanitizer between my fingers, I definitely notice a difference between brands and my conclusion is that all hand sanitizers are not equal.

Pur Attitude Anti-aging Skincare Review

My first taste of Pur Attitude's skincare collection came about when I received their Face Lift Gel in a New Beauty TestTube mailing (I've been a subscriber for years). I loved the packaging because you can actually see the product inside and know how much you start off with and how much is left as you use it. I'm picky about things like this when it comes to skincare because it seems like a lot of brands try to hide their product behind fancy packaging. It's the product that should be speaking for itself, right? I emailed Pur Attitude and asked if they'd send me a few of their products I was most curious about. As you know, I'm always looking out for the best wellness products for you, especially when it comes to my Quarterly Box mailings, which ALWAYS include fit skincare. I really love how the Face Lift Gel I got from New Beauty's TestTube (great for applying before you do your makeup) made my face feel really tight upon application but I wanted to try some of their other...

Don't Want To Look Frozen? This Filler Is For You!

A lot of people are scared of getting dermal fillers in their face and I don't blame them. We've seen enough celebrities who look frozen with very little movement in their forehead and mouth areas. Additionally, I've had a lot of friends tell me they hated their results after dabbling in fillers. They felt like they looked "different" afterwards. There were certain things about the way they charicteristically moved their face that were now gone. While I have to say I've never experienced this problem myself, I can totally understand how this would be extremely frustrating. I talk for a living so it would bug me if mobility in my face was limited or not believable. But at the same time, I want to look great for my age so when I feel I need a little help or plumping, I turn to injectables. I heard whisperings about a new type of filler to combat the frozen face look. I was eager to learn about it and then in perfect timing I got invited to this event by Galderma! The...

Cellfina Banished My Dimples: Watch me get treated!

It takes guts to post your bare ass on the internet. The "before" picture is definitely where my vulnerability lies. My mission has always been to offer up the best advice I could possibly give and to provide my readers with honest feedback on everything I try. So here it is: my experience receiving the much talked about Cellfina treatment. Viewer discretion is advised as I do show parts of the actual procedure. Don't worry, nothing is bloody or disgusting, or anything like that! But, I know some people are sensitive when it comes to needles. I know I am! Watch the video below... Cellfina is intended for long-term improvement in the appearance of cellulite in the buttocks and thigh areas of women. I only had my butt treated because there was no dimpling on my thighs. I do have some wavy cellulite-ish lines on my back thighs but I'm hoping to get that treated with laser later on. A lot of people have asked me 1) how much Cellfina costs and 2) what kind of pain level is...
