I find myself so unaware of fame until I am in my sweats in CVS and someone asks if I am who I am and then tells me how much my work has changed their life. I feel lucky because I am known in a way where I am always authentically myself. I teach and help people, so just like any teacher, I love being close with my students. However, I will say that it's a little different for my husband to get used to.
When nothing else worked (and believe me, I tried everything!). I never wanted to be a trainer and go take a certification for all of the fitness techniques that failed me, so I decided to do my own research, stay focused, and take on the serious task of developing the thousands of moves and the systems I have developed so that I am able to fill what I saw was not only a major gap in fitness, but a huge lack of content.
I designed the collection that way because I love being in a position where I can give any woman the tools to look her best. Every woman wants a sexy legging, regardless of their body type, that holds them in proportion and doesn't show bumps and lumps! I knew that if I was going to launch a collection of workout gear, I would start with the best rockstar black legging possible.
The secret ingredient in these leggings is my years of experience designing bodies and years of having to cut and alter every legging I've owned because none of them have ever been just right.
I workout in my new Omnicentric Black Legging with a neon sports bra and an American Apparel razorback triblend tank. I am obsessed with the high Reebok zigs and devastated they seem to have discontinued them!
- Actually get ready! Even if you feel like going for a more natural look, have a process. Natural doesn't mean dirty or unkempt. Wash your face, moisturize, dab something on, or at least curl your lashes. Care a little about the wad you put your hair up in. This will help your mood, energy, and performance which propel your results.
- Pack a change of clothes and bring a plastic bag for your dirty workout clothes.
- I always take Bobbi Brown's Bronze Shimmer Brick and dab it on my nose and cheeks with my fingers after I wash my face. It's a great way to compliment your post workout flush.
I tried everything. I tried pilates, yoga, step aerobics, running, you-name-it and nothing could give me tiny thighs and a perfect little lifted butt without cellulite. So I started the serious mission of figuring out if there was anything that actually could work. I am really proud that I was able to accomplish that for women with my method. It definitely takes dedication, but it delivers the results.
I haven't done any other form of exercise since I transformed myself and when I discovered that I really had something special. I am just as addicted to my method as anyone who has been changed by it. The only other exercise I love is being active with my son. I will do anything he wants from skiing to tennis to flag football.
When I drink a lot of water and don't eat a lot of junk, I can really feel good about my skin. My favorite self-tanner is Kate Sommerville's, it is by far the best and I do love to get a spray. Chocolate Sun and Portofino in LA are how I keep my glow.
HA! No, I don't eat baby food, at least not any type of baby food that comes from a jar. I developed a cleanse that consists of fresh pureed foods, because women were (and still are) severely misusing juice cleanses, to the point of losing their periods, becoming emotionally damaged by the yoyo effects of repetitive liquid cleansing, and damaging their metabolisms.
I wanted them to get the benefits of being able to consume large amounts of phytonutrients and antioxidants while still digesting fiber and still digesting - period.
When press got wind of the pureed food cleanse, they went with the label of baby food, and the sad thing is that women started buying jars of processed baby food, which doesn't have any of the benefits my cleanse does. When the press spins things wrong it causes layers of damage.
I would like to see more doctors like Dr. Ana Casas, who is committed to fighting quality of aging or Dr. Jay Gordon who is a pediatrician focused on the power of breast feeding and nutritional education in children.
I love how focused, loving, and consistent Richard Simmons has always been. That is inspiring to me!
