Wishing you had a more flattering bra for all your sleeveless tops and dresses this summer? I feel you. I’m a sleeveless-outfit-kind-of-girl and my issue is finding a bra that makes the area where my underarm and side boob meet look shapely. It’s frustrating when you work out as much as I do to maintain an athletic physique, to look in the mirror and spot a bulge protruding from under your arm! What the?!
I’ve tried everything possible over the years to shape this area. But it’s not a muscle…it’s just skin. It’s kind of one of those things I’ve just learned to live with and work around. I’ve even learned how to pose for pictures at certain angles that hide it.
After years of dealing with this issue called “sleevage,” I’ve concluded that most bras I’ve worn are actually the real culprits. Yes, they provided support but more often than not, they mobilized parts of my skin in directions it didn’t belong in and didn’t feel comfortable going in.
For instance, take a look a look at this picture below of me wearing no bra. There’s no bulge!
It’s because my underarm skin isn’t being pushed into my armpit or muffin-topped to bubble out. There’s no battle of the bulge in this scenario however there IS a side boob issue that makes going bra-less problematic.
Now take a look at these side by side before and after pictures. In the before picture, I’m wearing a strapless bra with a molded cup that I wear weekly.
In the after picture, I’m wearing a Warner’s No Side Effects Bra. Can you see how the creased lines of skin are non-existent with my Warner’s No Side Effects Bra?
The magic of my Warner’s Bra is in the strap design. There is higher fabric at the sides that helps to smooth and contain your skin in that region. Instead of pushing it upwards it actually secures it closer to your chest comfortably within the seamless side panel.
I love this the No Side Effects collection because it give my boobs the lift and support I need without squishing me to death at the sides. I’m a size 34C and this collection fit me perfectly. I love the soft foam-y feel of the molded cups and the option of front or back closure in the 2 styles I own. The front close underwire style in pale pink that I’m wearing in these pics gives me some added curvature and will dial up your “sexy”.
My wire-free back closure style in black can literally be worn underneath anything because there are no protruding ridges along the cups or straps.
If you’re searching for a better bra, try the No Side Effects collection from Warner’s. It will help solve your sleevage problem (which is not your fault). Trust me, I know you work out hard! I’m right there with you. I lift weights, squeeze myself into the KimK waist trainer and keep up on all the latest fitness trends. But some things are just facts of life. You armpit regions aren’t going away. This is very difficult part of your body to work out since there’s no muscle there. I’m telling you, it’s all about the bra!
Warner’s No Side Effects Bras in Underwire Contour, Wire-Free and Front Close Underwire cost $40 and can be found at Kohl’s, Macy’s, JCPenney’s and other department stores nationwide. Visit warners.com for more info.
