CALIA by Carrie Underwood Coming Next Spring!

There’s no turning down the lights on Carrie Underwood’s bright stardom because she just beat Beyonce to the punch of launching her own fitness line. The trend in activewear these days seems to be famous musicians starting their own fit collection. Makes perfect sense to me! I can only imagine how much these super stars have to workout to look so incredible, and a true diva likes to do things her own way.

On Wednesday, December 10th 2014 in New York City, I listened to Carrie Underwood talk about what inspired her to launch her CALIA by Carrie Underwood collection with DICK’S Sporting Goods where it will be exclusively available for purchase starting March 2015.

She had needs—just like all women do—and she felt like many brands of fitness clothing weren’t being designed with the feminine fit and accents that women want to see when they look in the mirror.

The collection is soft, feminine and versatile. The boldest print is a dark wild flower graphic, available in both a tank top and capri pant.

There are pastels, ruching and strappy features within the collection too, but what I love most are the accessories! The CALIA by Carrie Underwood knit-inspired scarf is to die for and can be worn with just about anything in your closet. The CALIA infuser water bottle is going to make a lot of sport bottle companies do a double take.

And the gray leg warmers with ruching are something every woman must own for a barre class, cardio-dance, an outdoor run or just for looking cool while loungin’.

I remember watching Carrie Underwood win American Idol. She was a wide-eyed country girl back then studying for a career in journalism. As someone who hails from the Midwest and will always be a Midwestern girl at heart, I liked hearing that many aspects of CALIA’s design palette (especially “sparkly”) are a callback to Carrie’s roots.

“Stay the Path” is CALIA’s fitlosophy. Carrie even revealed that during the filming of her CALIA video campaign, she was already pregnant. She was a little worried about how she might look considering her belly was starting to grow but once she put on her CALIA outfit to shoot, everything smoothed over. Literally! The capri pants have an extra wide waistband to slim and hold you in.
Even at 6-months pregnant, Carrie was decked in CALIA fitwear and sky-high heels for the line’s press preview. There’s a reason this country star’s light won’t dim. Success is all about sticking with it.

I partnered with Dick's Sporting Goods on this post . All opinions expressed here are my own while covering the CALIA press preview for my partner.
