Where to go and what to see in New York City before 2022

Panorama Room at Roosevelt Island in New York City.

I know, I know…Omicron has taken over New York City. But I’m still kickin’ and being extremely careful wherever I go without spiraling into panic mode. I do believe as long as you operate and travel with utmost safety (ahem, mask on!) that it’s OK to go out and enjoy the wonders of New York during the holidays. Here are my recommendations for must-see attractions, observatories and fun pop-ups to visit as you round out your year and begin to say goodbye to 2021.

Panorama Room & Rooftop at Roosevelt Island: This is a gorgeous spot and bar to enjoy dynamic NYC views and fancy drinks. Take the tram from Manhattan there, which is an experience in and of itself. They're also doing a fun NYE party in case you haven't finalized your plans yet.

SUMMIT One Vanderbilt: Here's another spot to score great views. This is THE observatory of the moment in NYC. You'll find one-of-a-kind views, instagrammable photo opps, mirrored floors and paper booties (REQUIRED to keep the mirrored floors clean). Reserve your tickets in advance and don't wear too many layers as it does heat up in here (due to all the windows).

Snowday in Brooklyn Pop-up Bar (at Sundays in Brooklyn): Venture to Williamsburg, Brooklyn to eat and drink at Snowday in Brooklyn. It's a super cute Christmas lodge-style pop-up bar with holiday inspired drinks served with lots of flare, I ordered the Hot For Santa, a fun take on the Hot Toddy. It's delish! So is there beet salad!

Paz Lifestyle Pop-Up Shop in Soho at 27 Greene Street: I love all things made in Peru, especially Alpaca goods. My friends from the company PazLifestyle have set up their pop-up holiday shop in Soho where you can shop for all things fashion, jewelry, housewares, art and food, mostly made by Peruvian artisans. The pop-up has an eclectic mix of clothing, art and accessories that are designed with sustainability as a priority. It's a great place to pick up stylish gifts. Enjoy a holiday gift at checkout using Biancaholidays online or at their pop-up. December 22nd is the last day for this pop-up.

Human’s Best Friend Pop-up: Located in the Meatpacking District at 861 Washington street, this fun pet & human experience serves up lots of holiday photo opps for you and your furry friend. My chihuahua, Frida, LOVED IT!

Rolf's NYC Restaurant: You can always go when it's not the holidays because the decor doesn't change (it's always completely decked out in Christmas lights and decor) but it feels really special to be there when it is! The mood and spirit are so New York, and so is the fact that they don't take reservations and it's hard to get a table--SO GOOD LUCK!

Enjly your last week of 2021 and remember to make it count! See you in 2022!
