The Grind is Never-ending. Here's What Fuels Me...
26Dec
2018
It’s the day after Christmas. You know what that’s like. You’re basically throwing out all the torn wrapping paper, running the last load of dishes used to host your guests and thinking about the next few days ahead before the New Year.
It’s A LOT. There’s so much excitement around the holidays and leading up to Christmas that we forget about everything post-holidays. Especially the act of getting our life back in order and stabilized. Is there even time for goal setting? I did a little of that myself in early December but really need to finish my list. It has to be more than just a mental list. If you don’t write it down (or type it out), well…you know how that goes.
I find that gaining my balance post-holidays starts with establishing my morning routine for the year. Believe it or not, there was a time when I didn’t make my own coffee or my bed. I was a mess. I would throw all my sheets and pillows on top of my bed in a pile and just pick up my coffee...
Finish What You Start: How ‘Bout That For Your 2019 Resolution?
05Dec
2018
Here's a different approach to your 2019 New Year's resolutions... Let me begin by saying I’ve always been a runner. I blog about it a lot. But this blog post is about something different, and I’m just going to use running as an example.
Sometimes in life we say we’re going to do something and we begin going through the motions of completing the act but never quite get to the finish. I’m not blaming you here (even though I know you're guilty of it), I blame myself. It frustrates me that I set goals and flake out on myself. So in 2017, after running enough races to qualify for the 2018 New York Marathon, I decided that I wasn’t going to flake. I registered for the marathon. It was a done deal.
Did I want to run a marathon? Not particuar.ly I’ve run so many already. Also, I know what it does to your body, feet and most of all, your social schedule. When you have to wake up for a Saturday morning race that begins lining up at 7.15am, you’re SOL for grabbing...

Healthy Mediterranean Salad + DIY Tahini Dressing Recipe
21Nov
2018
GO TAHINI with me! There are so many reasons why so...of course, I’m going to list them out for you :)
First, tahini is a savory, lemony and delicious dressing that you’ve tasted before but maybe had no clue how to recreate…and guess what, it’s SO EASY! You can make this dressing at home to pour over your salads that you take to work or that you order out from restaurants. When I make it, I like to make enough to last me the week because I always eat a hearty salad for lunch and a small one at dinner. I try to avoid luscious dressings that cancel out the fact that I've eaten a healthy salad. A light yet creamy tahini dressing, in my opinion, is the wise way to go.
2nd, Tahini is made from a fine sesame paste, and for this recipe I will be using only the best from Mighty Sesame Co. Sesame seeds are packed with vitamins and minerals that are good for you, like calcium, magnesium, vitamin E and healthy fats.
3rd, unlike other pre-made dressings (which might...
Ultra Fit Fest: The King of Fitness Festivals
17Oct
2018
The craziest thing happened! I was invited to Scottsdale Arizona for a fitness festival called Ultra Fit Fest put on by Michelob Ultra. I've never partnered or worked with a beer brand before so I was a bit hesitant at first to accept. But I'm so glad I did because it was honestly one of the most fun media trips I've ever been on.
Michelob Ultra invited me on this trip, all expenses paid, and all they asked of me was to share my favorite parts of the festival with all my followers on social media. If you follow me on instagram, you probably saw me working out like crazy in back-to-back fitness classes. And then, chilling by the pool in the hot Arizona sun by the afternoon. It was literally over 100 degrees every day! If you didn't catch all of that on Insta, well, now you know exactly what this trip entailed...
Actually, it was a lot more entertaining than how I just described it. But to me, the non-stop fitness offerings and pool were the highlights, and I was a happy...
Making it in NYC: Mentally & Physically
17Oct
2018
I officially moved to New York City when I was 24 years old. I already knew the city pretty well as I used to drive down into the city during my college years at Cornell University. Back then, a 5-hour drive seemed like nothing to experience an exciting weekend in the big city. The summer before my junior year, I was accepted into a psychology internship at Cornell Weill Hospital and got to spend the entire summer living in the West Village and working hard at a job in line with my major.
Gosh, that was a long time ago! Here I am now, going on 15 years of living in this crazy city! Who knew I’d never leave? I fell in love with fast pace, forward thinking, urban lifestyle that’s unavoidable here. You either love it or you don’t and that’s what separates the “visitors” from the real New Yorkers. They say 7 years classifies you as a legit New Yorker. By that time, you’ve probably seen enough to either pack up your bags and leave or decide it’s home sweet...
