SKINCARE: What is Lumeca and Do I Need It?

Woman getting a skincare treatment using a laser wand. The treatment is called Lumeca.

I have hyperpigmentation on my face and there’s really only one way to entirely get rid of it in one quick wave of a laser wand called Lumeca. The type of hyperpigmentation I have is called Melasma, which people show signs of for all different kinds of reasons from heat sensitivity to fluctuating hormones during pregnancy. Any type of hyperpigmentation is a pain in the butt because the brown spotting or discoloration that appears can be very aggressive and challenging to remove, lighten or even cover up with makeup.

My Skincare Routine and Beauty Cabinet Reveal

I always say that in a different life I would've been a dermatologist because of my passion for skincare and affinity for beauty treatments. Earlier this year, in the late Spring of 2021, I decided to try Dr. Koo's Skincare collection and specifically a regimen for anti-aging, hyperpigmentation (aka melasma) and gentle exfoliation. It's safe to say this regimen was targeted for 40+ skin but I don't know, I feel like I would've used this exact combination of products back in my 20's too as my skin hasn't changed drastically. I've always had sensitive skin and dry skin.
