Cellfina Banished My Dimples: Watch me get treated!

It takes guts to post your bare ass on the internet. The "before" picture is definitely where my vulnerability lies. My mission has always been to offer up the best advice I could possibly give and to provide my readers with honest feedback on everything I try. So here it is: my experience receiving the much talked about Cellfina treatment. Viewer discretion is advised as I do show parts of the actual procedure. Don't worry, nothing is bloody or disgusting, or anything like that! But, I know some people are sensitive when it comes to needles. I know I am! Watch the video below... Cellfina is intended for long-term improvement in the appearance of cellulite in the buttocks and thigh areas of women. I only had my butt treated because there was no dimpling on my thighs. I do have some wavy cellulite-ish lines on my back thighs but I'm hoping to get that treated with laser later on. A lot of people have asked me 1) how much Cellfina costs and 2) what kind of pain level is...

Got workout soreness? Relief is here!

Exercising frequently and playing sports takes a toll on your body. There's always going to be soreness and injury. You really can't avoid it if you're passionate about fitness and like to push yourself hard. It happens to newbies, too. Especially when your body hasn't quite acclimated to routine training. Over the years, I've learned a lot of tricks and natural healing methods to help my muscles recover faster and get me back into the game. These are just a few... Cold & Hot Therapy - Make sure to ice areas of inflammation and swelling followed by soaking in a hot bath to relieve pain/soreness. Epsom Salt added to a hot bath is extremely soothing for your muscles. Or, any kind of high magnesium based salt. Essential oils (mixed correctly) can relax and calm tense areas. Homeopathic biomedicines like arnica, calendula and echinacea can be just as effective as over the counter pain relief pills and narcotic pain killers. And they're better for...

Does Your Hair Need Therapy? Mine Did.

I spend 40-60 minutes blow drying, 20 minutes styling with a curling iron or straightner, and an additional 10-15 minutes defrizz-ing, adding shine and then taming fly-aways. My hair routine is a whole process--one that I've been doing for years since the second grade. When you grow up as a wavy-haired Latina girl, you learn to use a round brush right about the same time you learn to use a fork and spoon. It becomes a tool you can't live without...safely stored in your hot pink Caboodle along with your crimper. (If you're a child of the 90's, you'll get that reference.) Not much has changed for me since those days, I'm still round brushing my hair and subjecting it to all kinds of heat, coloring and sometimes even relaxing chemical treatments. It's awful what I put it through and the damage is often obvious to me in pictures. I realize not all of you reading this can relate but when you're born with thick, coarse or curly hair, "styling" becomes a huge part of your life. An...

This is Cryotherapy. Brrrrr!

I promised you I would try it. Here's what happened in my cryotherapy session at KryoLife in NYC. Watch the video above or CLICK HERE! I'll be honest, it's f***ing cold! But if you want the benefits of the treatment, it's worth enduring the very looooong 3 minutes. I had a camera on me, so I was working really hard to get through it like a champ. IT WAS NOT EASY. The day I went to film at KryoLife, owned and operated by Joanna Fryben,  I was actually feeling significant shoulder pain. So I was genuinely hoping to reap the benefits of whole body cryo and report back to you on how quickly it worked. It wasn't an overnight kind of relief, but the pain did completely go away about a day and half later. In fact, I felt wonderful all over by that time. Cryotherapy is hailed as a cure-all and people are using it to get rid of all kinds of things like acne, cellulite, unwanted weight, inflammation, depression, libido problems, and body injuries. If you're an athlete or...

How To Use A Waist Trainer

Hi guys! That's me planking it out in a waist trainer from Hourglass Angel. In fact, I have more than a few waist trainers that I've been using for over a year since becoming curious about the waist training trend. Like many of you, I saw Kim Kardashian's selfie that she took in her trainer and wondered what's this? I reached out to Hourglass Angel (the most well-known waist training seller online) to see if I could try their products and, of course, come to my own conclusion. Let's just say I ended up falling in love with waist training, which is something I really didn't expect. There's a lot of talk about waist training out there... ...but what you'll find here is my perspective on it and pointers for how to use trainers beyond the crazy selfies you see on social media. I'll also share my favorite styles, recommendations on sizing and a great discount! Considering what I saw on social media wasn't all too inspiring, I decided to share snapshots over the course of 8...

Building Curl Confidence

I'm often complimented on my hair but what most people don't know is that for years it was my achilles heel. Up until about 5th grade, I had straight hair. It always fell into place and was easy to style. No complaints. Then again, I was so young that good hair wasn't really on my mind. Around the time I turned 12, my dad took me to get a "Mariah Carey" perm because I wanted Mariah's exact hair from her music video Someday. (I was obsessed!) Aaaaand, that was when my hair never went back to being the same. Don't get me wrong, I loved the perm! But after it grew out, I wasn't a fan of what was leftover. What changed my hair's texture? I'm pretty sure it was a combination of the perm's harsh chemicals (it was the early 90's afterall) and my onset of puberty. Again, not complaining as worse things have happened in my life, but as all wavy and curly-haired girls know, learning how to style curls is freakin' hard! Especially fried post-perm curls. I had gotten used to straight...
