If you follow me on Instagram, you've seen me wearing this t-shirt a lot lately. Well, there's a reason for it. I completely fell in love with it! I got in touch with the designer, Geneva Peschka from SunandDaughtersCo on Etsy, to find out more about the inspiration behind the shirt. She told me that over the last few years she's been doing a lot of self work and stumbled across Spirit Junkie by Gabrielle Bernstein. Spirit Junkie and the book A Return To Love by Marianne Williamson really helped open her mind and heart to all the amazing possibilities that can happen when someone chooses love over fear. Lotus flower designs are constantly seen on yoga clothing and accessories and they always look the same. The flower is soft, subtle and BORING! adidas has taken the complete opposite approach and given the lotus flower a makeover. Actually, let's call it a RESURRECTION. The lotus flower is now bold, proud and sharp looking, which I personally think translates better to fitness and sport. The new Lotus Print collection by adidas Originals is urban, striking and feminine in a cool, unapologetic way. Mother's Day is coming up on Sunday and sadly I won't be in the same city as my mom to celebrate. But I always send her something special because she's amazing and the sole reason I exist. My mom and I don't always agree on everything but she's been very supportive of my life choices and has taken great care of me throughout my life. Sometimes it's even hard for her to let go and realize that I'm an adult now. She's that great of a mom! As we enter into more of a loving friendship, I've gotten to know my mother in new ways. She works out with me, attends my events and has modeled for print ads (like the one above which actually never ran) and in magazines with me. I used to think of her as just my mom without fully worshipping everything she's accomplished. As I get older, it's easier to see the full story of her life. AMAZING WOMEN are everwhere and one of the most exciting parts of my job is bringing them to your attention. As I write this, there are some incredibly athletic and brave women sailing around the world as part of Team SCA. They're competing in the Volvo Ocean Race, which is considered to be the toughest sailing race in the world. Team SCA is the first all female team in the last 10 years to compete in this race. This is huge! Women are killing it! Think about how far we've come :) Their sail, while impressive in it's own right, represents something far greater for women. Watch this video, it's really quite moving! THE VOLVO OCEAN RACE started in Alicante, Spain back in October (2014). It stops in nine countries around the world before finishing in Gothenburg, Sweden this June of 2015. It's a long trip (9 months at sea!) and it's a tremendous challenge for these women, requiring massive teamwork and goal-setting. I can't even begin to wrap my brain around...

There's no place like Hawaii! My plan is to visit a different Hawaiian island every year until I've been to them all. I traveled to Oahu last year. Going to the Big Island this past February was my 3rd time back to the wonderous state and I used a new online travel guide service called Localfu to navigate my way around like a local. If there's something you should know about me it's that I avoid tourist traps at all costs!
