I’m not one of those fitness girls that doesn’t eat. Healthy, yummy food is how I reward myself. On my road trip to fit with Tri-State Ford, I’m finding great places to nosh post-workout. I’m venturing to hidden gems in my 2015 Ford Escape to celebrate Tri-State Ford’s “Where To Now?” adventure and sweepstakes!
Being on the road over the summer and fall has been magnificent. I’ve logged a lot of ME-time in my Ford Escape on my way to run in the woods HERE and to find balance HERE. Now, I’m looking forward to spending some quality time with a friend.
The scenic route is a must as I think about all the things I have to catch my friend, RJ, up on. She and I are both self-made, independent women. So we talk about everything from relationships to business. We’re all about empowering each other.
It’s easy to get lost in thought when you’re driving, which is why I’m relieved to have the 2015 Ford Escape’s SYNC 3 easy-to-use navigation system to keep me from getting lost on my way. It’s designed to respond quickly to my touch screen entries and voice commands. I don’t have to bother fumbling with my phone because SYNC 3 actually offers seamless integration with my phone’s voice activation as well. You can basically talk to the car! These features are my little angels as I explore the Tri-State.
Here we are at the Rivermarket Bar & Kitchen in Tarrytown. RJ and I both order the Ahí Tuna Salad, which is absolutely amazing. It’s crazy…I met RJ (short for Renarda Joy) about 2 years ago, but I feel like I’ve known her FOREVER. She calls me her sister from another mister. We grew up completely different but the way we turned out couldn’t be more aligned. Good friends like RJ are a rare find, so hold on tight when they come walking into your life.
Main Street in Tarrytown is adorable. I popped into a bunch of cute stores. I can’t get enough of antique and consignment shops. When you find something unique that no one else has, it’s like you hit the jackpot.
As I’m about to pull out from my side-street parking spot, a car whizzed past me. Thankfully, my 2015 Ford Escape gave me a heads up with its Blind Spot Information System (BLIS). It’s a yellow light that flashes on the driver’s side view mirror, letting me know that a vehicle or person has entered into my blind spot zone.
There’s also a Cross Traffic Alert, flashing in red, when a car or person approaches the rear of the Ford Escape as you’re going into reverse. Not only does it protect me, it makes me a better driver. Love road trips, but when you’re out of your element, you’ve got to heighten your awareness and be safe.
Time for me to get back on the road, but before I go, tell me where you’d like to road trip. What kind of activities would you plan? Leave your answers below.
Also, don’t forget to enter the Tri-State Ford #WhereToNow Sweepstakes, especially if you're all about winning a 2-year lease on a Ford Escape like mine. Or, even a getaway like mine!
