Work Your Booty Like A TV Host

Yes! The couch potato booty blast is definitely something you need in your life! That's why I drove 2 hours to New Haven, Connecticut o show Ryan Kristafer, the host of the CT Style Morning Show, how to do it. Let's just say he tried...which I'll give him plenty of credit for. The Couch Potato Booty Blast is what I'd call "vintage Mizzfit" and I love that it's having a resurgence. I'm always happy to get couch potatos moving and the truth is you can work out from ANYWHERE. But even if you're sooo glued to your couch that you really must work out there, please at the very last make sure to Style Up 2 Shape Up. Let's use Ryan getup as an example! Athleta and Lauren Imparato Shine at Yoga Solstice in Times Square

On June 21st, Athleta was the headlining sponsor of Solstice in Times Square put on by Times Square Alliance for it's 13th year. This is the yearly event where yogis come together right smack in the middle of Times Square to celebrate the day the sun is at its highest position in the sky for the longest period of time. I was there front and center at 9am. What sets this year's event apart from the last few, aside from the bearably cooler weather, was yoga-preneur Lauren Imparato leading the highly publicized morning class. I've known Lauren since I founded Mizzfit.com. She was one of my first yoga studio reviews and continues to pioneer athletic style yoga. Her practice of I.AM.YOU. yoga is not easy. It's challenging, modern, music-oriented, and doesn't follow all the yoga rules you're used to. I went on Pix11 Morning News in New York City today to share my Caliente Calves routine, which you're going to love for summer! It's really simple and you can do it at home without any equipment. Reporter Lisa Mateo didn't even wear shoes and she did just fine :) But first, why should you focus on working out your calves? These are my uncontestable reasons: They give your legs shape. They show off muscle tone, which tells people that you work out. They're SEXY! These days, it's not just about hips and booty. Rock The Boat Zumba Cruise - Just Announced!

Now you can dance your heart out on water because Zumba just announced that they've teamed up with Royal Caribbean to create the first ever Zumba vacation-cruise experience. Check out the video below! If you're a Zumba fanatic, you should know that the cruise doesn't set sail for another 7 months from Fort Lauderdale, Florida but at least you have some time to plan, right? So mark your calendars for January 25th, 2016! It's a 5 day adventure and my sources are telling me that there will be 130 of the most famous Zumba instructors onboard including Beto Perez himself. Every class will be set to live music and DJ's. And just in case you stop dancing to see where the hell you're going, the cruise will be sailing to Falmouth, Jamaica with a stop in Labadee, Haiti for a private live concert featuring the hottest Caribbean artists. It's not ALL dancing though, you'll still get to enjoy the luxuries of being on a cruise. Then again, I've been to Zumba conferences in Miami...

Amazing Women At Sea

AMAZING WOMEN are everwhere and one of the most exciting parts of my job is bringing them to your attention. As I write this, there are some incredibly athletic and brave women sailing around the world as part of Team SCA. They're competing in the Volvo Ocean Race, which is considered to be the toughest sailing race in the world. Team SCA is the first all female team in the last 10 years to compete in this race. This is huge! Women are killing it! Think about how far we've come :) Their sail, while impressive in it's own right, represents something far greater for women. Watch this video, it's really quite moving! THE VOLVO OCEAN RACE started in Alicante, Spain back in October (2014). It stops in nine countries around the world before finishing in Gothenburg, Sweden this June of 2015. It's a long trip (9 months at sea!) and it's a tremendous challenge for these women, requiring massive teamwork and goal-setting. I can't even begin to wrap my brain around...
