-- This is a guest blog post by Christina Canterino -- I want to share a story with the world that has affected me in a way I never thought possible. Let me start by giving you a little background about myself… I am a 29 year old woman, and I lost sixty pounds in two and a half years. I have kept the weight off and have gotten leaner, faster, and stronger as each day passes. I struggled with bulimia throughout my young adult years, going in and out of therapy and treatment. It was so bad, that i was forced to drop out of college midway through my second semester. It was one of the most difficult periods of my life. Now, I consider myself athletic, confident, and healthy. A few years ago, I was able to complete my bachelor’s degree in Psychology and Sociology. However, fitness and wellness have grown to become my passion. During the day, I am a working member of corporate America. At night I am a group fitness instructor. I am studying for the NASM...
⬆️ ⬆️ WATCH THE VIDEO ABOVE ⬆️ ⬆️ New Yorkers don't get to experience their city as a tourist very often. Life goes by very fast here and you're constantly rushing somewhere, hopping in and out of subways, cabs, Ubers, Lyfts, Vias and whatever else is next as far as our ever growing transportation options. It sounds crazy, but the energy and pulse of New York City can make you take the city itself for granted. They say you can always tell the difference between a real New Yorker and a tourist because the locals never look up. We're too fixated on where we have to be next that we don't appreciate our skyscrapers and landmarks. Well...this New Yorker (me!) decided it was time to change that. I planned an Uptown Manhattan stay-cation and checked into a room with a view at the JW Marriot Essex House right across the street from Central Park. My stay-cation that you're reading about can be your next vacation simply be entering the sweepstakes contest at the...
I knew I'd be terrified rappelling down the side of a building but wasn't expecting it to pull on my heart strings. Meeting Lindsey Hawkins at the bottom of my rappel had me all teary-eyed. Her passion and enthusiasm calmed me and left me wanting to know more about her. I blogged about my Over The Edge Rappel experience last year. I shared pics of my descent and was proud to announce that I had reached my fundraising goal. However, the story for me was far from complete. I kept thinking about Lindsey and the moment she hugged me. So, I kind of hunted her down! Please watch my video above, which includes my interview with Miss Lindsey Hawkins. She's a Special Olympics athlete who's been with the organization for 14 years. She finds immense pride in this and told me that she plays every team sport that is offered through Special Olympics of Missouri (SOMO). She describes how she feels about the 14 years she's invested in sports at SOMO as "the heart and soul of an...
I couldn't believe my eyes when I saw pictures of model Brad Welling. He's strikingly handsome with silver hair and abs that put men half his age to shame. His modeling agency TRUE Model Management calls him their "unicorn", which I believe is the right word to describe him because he's an anomaly! Brad is 56 and what's even more compelling than his good looks is the fact that he didn't always look this way. In fact, up until just a few years ago, Brad was a skinny out-of-shape father coping with the stress of raising his newly adopted daughter all on his own. The best day of his life was becoming a dad but he lost so much weight as he took on the endless responsibilities of fatherhood. You can see that he looks older and gaunt in the face in the pictures above. Raising a child isn't easy as every parent knows but Brad didn't want to let go of his health and lose himself. The year after his daughter was born, he hit the gym and started working out with a trainer. Brad...

Tribal Tats are OUT Tribal Prints on Activewear are IN Unless your under the age of 15 its time to toss out those Tribal Tats (y'know, those silver and gold temporary tattoos) and trade them in for some activewear with tribal patterns from Teeki, which let you express yourself with all the fun symbolism of those temp tats but in a more funky, age appropriate way. I personally love the Phoenix Rising collection. Grippy Socks are OUT Grippy Shoes are IN Grippy socks for...
I just got back from a 2-week vacation to Kauaí where I had the adventure of my life! I hiked to secret beaches, jumped into the ocean off rocky cliffs, slid down mud trails, went stand up paddle boarding and pretty much lived in a bikini the entire time. My bikinis got sweaty, salty, muddy and very sandy. I rinsed them out with cold water at the end of each day, but when I returned back home to NYC I realized how bad they smelled. I mean...it made sense, I was literally hanging out in the jungle and ocean 24/7. I think a starfish even peed on me! So I'm posing a question to The Laundress, a glamorous detergent company I've been using for the past year. The Laundress was actually in my last #MIZ10 Quarterly Box and I trust them completely because they make the best eco-friendly laundry and fabric care. Here's my Ask The Laundress question... HOW DO I WASH MY SWEATY SWIMWEAR? I'm desperate to cleanse my stinky bikinis that reek of the outdoors and revive...
