How To Avoid Losing Your Phone Like I Did. Follow My Tips Before It's Too Late!

Bianca Jade running with dog at Art Omi Sculpture Park in front of a big orange rock sculpture

That’s me, on the hunt for my iPhone, lost somewhere at the Art Omi sculpture park in Ghent, NY. First of all, you must go see this place. It’s a fantastic visual experience on-foot and it’s dog-friendly. As you can see, Frida doggy was there too. I haven't been to many sculpture parks in my life but so far this one ranks at the top.

LED Light Therapy: Look Younger, Better!

We've all heard of LED Lights and seen them as part of Christmas decorations and blinking signage. But did you know LED lights, originally developed by NASA, are doing lots of good in the beauty and health worlds? I'm so excited to bring you this report because this technology offers a relatively inexpensive way to look younger and get fitter. My favorite items are the anti-aging wands and mask but seriously all of them are wonderful and work well. Check out the video below... LED Lights are essentially wavelengths of colored light energy and each color does something different. Some colors are more therapeutic than others. The research is fun to do and I had a blast testing many devices on myself but I have to be honest and say I wish I could've tested even more colors and gadgets. If you happen to know of ones I don't mention here, please let me know in the comments section.  The LED light products you'll read about here are all under $100 and exceptionally easy to...

Meditate: It's Easier Than You Think!

Meditation in the fast world. Is it really possible? Especially with how busy and complicated our lives have become? How is it even possible to meditate to relax and focus inward when we are so attached to our devices? Like our mobile phones, headphones and wireless earbuds, GPS health trackers and more! I wouldn't have been able to answer this question for you until I started learning more about meditation and relaxation due to the trend I began to see growing (and which continues to grow) in New York City. My forecast is that it will soon reach the city you live in. Are you ready to relax more? In November of 2016, it seemed like all of a sudden meditation studios were popping up all around Manhattan, and I'm not talking about Buddhist type meditation rooms and sanctuaries. New York has a ton of those already that cater to a more traditionally zen crowd. What I'm talking about is more in the vein of "modern meditation", if you will. It caters to more mass market, every...

Tech Boom in Fitness, Fashion & Health

Tech is a hot topic in fitness, fashion and health more than ever these days. It's drastically changing these industries with more advanced fabrics, lighter and more funtional parts, more accurate tracking and motion sensors, and overall cooler customization. It's really amazing to see all the companies being born out of these kind of technological advancements. Technology spells OPPORTUNITY! I've been covering technology in fitness, fashion and health over the last 5 months and I really hope you enjoy these trend reports. The reason I find them so relevant is because by 2020, wearable technology alone with generate over 20 billion dollars in revenue. And I'm not talkin' pedometers! The category continues to evolve and expand beyond the fitness tracker we're all familiar with. It's a new tech-y world out there. Enjoy these recaps and please let me know what you think! This piece is from TechstyleNYC 2016 which just took place during New York Fashion Week on February 16th,...

TomTom Spark is Music to My Ears

This is my new TomTom Spark Cardio + Music and GPS fitness watch. I know you’ve probably heard of many fitness trackers already but this one is the tracker of all trackers. I literally just went bonkers on a plane over it...but let me work my way into that story. I’m arguably one of the toughest critics of fitness watches and trackers. Most of the ones I’ve purchased or have been sent to review bite the dust in my gadget drawer at Mizzfit Headquarters. For the most part I find them to be unnecessary time suckers. I already have enough gadgets and gizmos in my life that if I'm going to add something to the mix, it better do something spectacular. I want it to improve my fitness routine and make it more fun, not complicated. To be perfectly honest, the TomTom Spark Cardio + Music frustrated me at first because there’s a bit of set up involved. You have to sync it to your computer, enter a bunch of personal info so that it can compute your stats, get the app on your...

What you need for a healthy, "appy" life

I recently appeared on CT Style to talk about my favorite health apps. I didn't get to mention all of them, so here's a list of what I love and use often. You might be surprised that they're not all fitness apps. The truth is I use very few workout apps because I like to get offline to sweat. But lately, I've gotten pretty techy with regard to my wellness. These apps help me feel and look my best "in a jiffy" without having to run all over town. So, here's what I'm using... 1. Rise App - I won't go into this one too much because you can hear me sing its praises in the video above. But really all you have to do is take pics of your food at every meal, snack hour, and quickly check boxes for how long you worked out (or didn’t) and how much water you drank, etc. You never have to go anywhere to weigh in, get lectured or fill out lengthy forms. Everything happens through the app and you get daily feedback from your nutritionist. Here's a special Mizzfit promo code for 2 weeks...
