Clearly you know I’m an adidas super fan as well as an ambassador, so how could I not announce this exciting drop, right? I’m particularly excited because normally I wear more sporty and classic styles from adidas’ fitness and athleisure collections, and this set feels refreshingly different.
My life before the 2020 Coronavirus Pandemic hit the US was literally non-stop travel from December to early March. I definitely saw a lot of people at the airport wearing respirators and disinfecting their seats on the plane, but it really never occurred to me that soon we’d all be in a state of lockdown. The face masks, at the time, seemed a bit much to me. I was conscientiously using hand sanitizer and wiping down my seat too, but I was 100% clueless about what was to come next. And you know what? I’m thankful for my blissful ignorance…because who knows when I’ll be traveling next!
Well…in all fairness, ALL WOMEN are nominated and celebrated annually on March 8th which is International Women’s Day. In my opinion, it makes sense to go sporty in the Fall and Winter months because it’s so darn cold outside and just easier to get around when you’re not dealing with the hassle of heels. The flower is soft, subtle and BORING! adidas has taken the complete opposite approach and given the lotus flower a makeover. Actually, let's call it a RESURRECTION. The lotus flower is now bold, proud and sharp looking, which I personally think translates better to fitness and sport. The new Lotus Print collection by adidas Originals is urban, striking and feminine in a cool, unapologetic way. During my little photoshoot in NYC's Meatpacking District, locals and tourists alike kept pointing out my gear to their group. I had to smile and agree--can't help but love these pieces! The lotus flower in real life is exquisite. It 100% deserves a beautiful graphic representation. The reason yogis love this flower so much is because of its meaning and ties to Buddhism. Dina Ivas is a yoga instructor at Equinox Fitness gyms in NYC. Lucky for me, she teaches at the location I belong to. Her classes are popular for their cardio component and twisty ab work.
