HelloFresh is how I learned to efficiently and deliciously cook. I never took an interest in making my own meals until I was 30. And once I became interested, the hassle of grocery shopping quickly became a burden, reigniting my laziness to order delivery or takeout. It's crazy to think you can be so gung-ho about fitness but then not take the best care of yourself when it comes to food prep.
But I'll admit, that was ME...until I started to see my laziness take its toll on my body. The body I was working so hard to sculpt in the gym, sheesh! When you dine out frequently or constantly resort to delivery and takeout, you have no idea what's going into your food. Most likely, it's going to add up to lots of sodium, butter and unnecessary sugars and oils.
As they say, ABS ARE MADE IN THE KITCHEN. I'm not a nutritionist or health coach but a lot of my friends are (with best selling books to boot!). So let's just say I've learned a thing or two from them, starting with how important it is to take control over the food prep and cooking process. It's enlightening to know what goes into your meals and really inspiring to know that you make it yourself. I advise shopping at smaller markets so as not to get overwhelmed or time-crunched while grocery shopping. That is always my problem!
Or, you can bypass grocery shopping altogether! Like I do...with HelloFresh. HelloFresh is a subscription box service that freshly packages all your groceries along with recipes to match. It's the biggest time saver EVER if you want to cook healthy meals that spare you a trip to Whole Foods and the cost of it! I've seriously gone to Whole Foods before and spent $50 on 5 items in bewilderment.
I discovered HelloFresh over a year ago through a promotion on NewBeauty. I figured I'd give it a whirl and ever since, I've been a loyal user! It made me feel wonderful that I was spending less money on Seamless/GrubHub and investing more time and thought into my health. I became such a fan of the company that I'm now collaborating with them and hosting a series called The Culture of Cooking-In. We are releasing a new video every week and you'll be able to watch the entire series HERE on YouTube.
So, here's how HelloFresh works: You start off by committing to 3 nights of cooking in. Can you do it? I think you can! You sign up here: http://bit.ly/1PlizLn to receive $35 off your first box courtesy of ME (the link automatically generates the promotion at checkout) and then on Wednesday you select your meals with 3 easy clicks. HelloFresh offers various sized boxes depending on how many are in your household. If you roll solo, I suggest the 2 person box because you can eat the leftovers from each meal for lunch the following day.
The Culture of Cooking-In is a 6 part series. So be sure to catch them all here on Mizzfit.com, through my social profiles or on my YouTube channel. Let me know if you end up giving HelloFresh a shot and remember to tag your creations on FB, Twitter and Insta with #HelloFreshPics!
