I get the worst periods. We all do. It can be hell on earth some months, right? Especially when it hurts to move. But it’s actually common knowledge in the women's health world that if you maintain physical activity while you’re menstruating that you can actually alleviate cramps, bloating, aches and pains.

It all comes down to circulation, breathing fresh oxygenated air, drinking lots of water and getting your endorphins going. I like to equate it to working out while you’re going through heartbreak. At the beginning, you’re like “how could this possibly make my situation any better?” But once those beads of sweat start forming and you’re releasing toxins and somewhat forgetting about HIM (or her), exercise feels like the best idea you ever came up with!

Scorned lovers and periods need to be dealt with in the same way, because ultimately the pain will pass. You just have to get in motion to speed up the process! Pushing through your period is possible when...

My 10 New Year Resolutions for 2018

It's January 30th and I've had a lot of time to think about my top 10 New Year's resolutions. I have a tradition of writing them down, framing the list and mounting it on a wall where I can see it every day. This tactic has definitely worked in the past but I'm over it. I can focus on my goals without the guilt trip. As you get older, there are less distractions in life that matter. Goals are easier to see. Agree or not?

My ten 2018 resolutions that follow come from the heart and from my ambitious desires to be my best, most successful self. I decided to do a countdown since #1 is definitely the most important and, of course, I want you to read the whole blog post. Sorry, is that mean?

Another thing... I work fast. Within the month of January, I completed some of these resolutions already. That's what the ✅ stands for.

So I've been waiting to share this news on my blog! I had the incredible opportunity to work with Walgreens on this wonderful New Year health campaign that you might see as commercials and digital ads online. I'm really honored to have worked on this campaign because I literally grew up on Walgreens! In Missouri, it was our main pharmacy and quick-shop that was on every corner and STILL IS! When I moved to New York, there were so many other phamarcies up here but I made sure to exclusively shop at Walgreens because it reminded me of home. Your roots are your roots, right?

Have you tried any of Walgreen's NICE products? We featured a lot of them in this campaign and I was lucky enough to bring a bunch home after the shoot! Wondering if you have any favorites.

Eggs, Latinos and Networking at GUSTO New York!

I had the honor of attending an event called GUSTO New York with my fellow Latinos and I'll admitedly succumb to the highest level of cheesiness by saying it was absolutely eggcellent! I partnered with American Egg Board to cover the foodie festivities, try all the yummy appetizers they served up (all made with eggs) and network. You really couldn't ask for a better invitation!

The event took place at the Hilton Midtown and was co-sponsored by LATINO Magazine and the American Egg Board. The private room was filled with professionals who are proud members of the Latino community throughout New York. Everything from the gourmet apps to the specialty cocktails were made with eggs. It was quite impressive! I loved the egg white foam in the Pisco Sours that were served at the bar. I may have had 1 too many, LOL!

Events like theee are so important to me because in my daily, busy life I find that it can be hard to preserve my heritage and culture. This is especially the case...

SodaStream Recipes You Need To Try!

If you don't have a SodaStream in your life, you need to get one! I'm obsessed with mine but I have to admit that I got on the train a little late in life. I wish I had purchased one much sooner! So, I put together these recipes with the help of SodaStream to inspire everyone to reject the vending machine and all those delicious looking sugary drinks that get advertised to us all summer long. I know they look good on billboards and in commercials but so many carbonated drinks and sodas are loaded with sugar and sodium.

I kid you not that my SodaStream has become a healthy replacement tool. You can make your own fizzy drinks without the huge calorie intake. If you already have a SodaStream, you know what I'm talking about (just skip ahead to the recipes below). Drinks loaded with sodium (that seem to be lower in calories or have zero) will most often make you feel bloated and sluggish. Not good if you're trying to lose weight! The opposite will happen!
