This lucky girl was invited to attend rapper Nelly's annual Black & White Ball on December 21st in my hometown of St. Louis, Missouri. Gotta say, I was really excited. I've always loved Nelly's music but I was truly thrilled at the idea of going to a glam event that would surely bring good vibes to a recently damaged city and it's people following the events of Ferguson. I've touched on the topic a little HERE. I needed a dress and I had no time to shop for one! A stylist-blogger friend of mine by the name of NYCPretty (who knows more about fashion than any person I know) mentioned Rent The Runway to me. I'd heard of it but the idea of renting a dress was really foreign to me. Then again, the idea of spending hours--maybe even days--shopping for the perfect dress was something I just couldn't do ESPECIALLY during the height of Christmas-time shopping. Nope. So I headed to Rent The Runway's NYC Flatiron boutique after booking an appointment for a personal stylist session and...
Having a bad day? Things just not going your way? Tell me about it! The past week of my life has been a Groundhog Day of mishaps. I missed an incredibly important meeting last Thursday, then lost my phone and keys (which were eventually retrieved) and then yesterday somone important that I was supposed to interview for my Mizzfit YouTube channel cancelled at the last minute (just as my makeup artist and videographer were arriving to set up). Ughhhhhh! I blame no one but myself and the universe for these things. Because sometimes things just don't work out...and the worst thing you could do is get upset or blame someone else for the mishap. It's also bad to beat yourself up over an event that cannot be changed. All you can do is learn from it, focus on what's ahead and realize that it's not the end of the world. With that said, when I was asked to be a part of Lucy's #CHILDSPOSE campaign, I was like HELL YES! For me, it was a nice way to find humor in all the things that go...
So this is a recap on the last 2 months of my life. I figured why not turn the lens around and show you what's going on in my life. I enjoy narrating through pictures so here goes... 1. I launched an incredible Mizzfit sock line with Pointe Studio because I love barre fitness like a crackhead. The response has been amazing and no one has thrown their sweaty socks at me yet. They're grippy on the bottom so if you don't do barre, you can also just wear them at home instead of scratching up your nice wood floors with heels. They make great stocking stuffers too. 2. I spoke at iHeart Radio's Lifestyle Health & Wellness Expo in Brooklyn, NY. I'll be at the next one in Harlem, too, on January 29th of 2015. I was honored to speak alongside someone I quite admire: Miss Jenna Wolfe (health & fitness correspondent of the Today Show). I convinced her to meet with me and give me career advice so I will keep you filled in on how that goes. My advice to you...

It's hard for me to write this as I'm pretty upset...so bear with me here. I have something I want to get out and I'm going to try my best to use the right words here. About a month ago I was contacted by Popsugar and Under Armour to be a part of the I WILL WHAT I WANT campaign. It's a very empowering campaign about overcoming obstacles to achieve what you want in life no matter what other people have to say. I was honored to receive the invitation to say the least, esp after watching Under Armour's Misty Copeland commercial. Under Armour's request was to make a short video sharing my story to show how I will what I want. And so I did. You can watch it below. Once I sent in the video, I did not hear from them for weeks. Popsugar kept making excuses for Under Armour but it was clear my story wasn't good enough for them. Perhaps it was because I mentioned the D-word (depression) or because I didn't wear their clothes in a sexy way. Perhaps it was because I was a little TOO...
But you can and will if you sign up for my next Girls' Night Out event with New Balance. My story commences... A month or so ago, I got a call from New Balance asking if I'd like to host their NYC summer event series called Girls' Night Out to celebrate their recently launched GNO Meet Up app. Just from the initial sound of it, this was an opportunity I could not say no to. I LIVE for empowering events that gather fitness, health and fashion loving women. So I hopped on board but never imagined the caliber and excitement of the event that I helped shape with New Balance. Now, I can't take all the credit, because the New Balance team brainstormed the summer event series that takes place in both Boston and New York. But I was thrilled to see so many of my readers and community of fit-fashionistas show up. It was the best party of my summer so far! And there are 2 more #NBGNO parties coming up. So it only gets better for me Let me tell you what goes on, so that...
