Winter Skincare Tips for Youthful, Hydrated Skin!

Hola amigitos! I'm back with some winter skincare tips that I shared recently on a morning show. Today seemed like the perfect day to write this blog because it's the coldest day of the year here in New York City. It's the type of cold that makes your throat dry just with one inhalation of the air outside. Do you know what I'm talking about?

Your face can take quite a beating in this weather. Here are my tips for the following skin issues that I think we can all relate to in the stark wintertime. And if you can't bother to read, no worries, just scroll for my video below which covers everything!

Dry Flaky Skin: What can you do?

I recommend investing in a good moisturizer that has ingredients known for infusing your skin with hydration. For example, I am a big fan of Cetaphil with Hyaluronic Acid. This is a newer range that Cetaphil came out with last year. The Hyaluronic Acid is the secret weapon as it both locks in moisture and plumps the skin. It comes in a Daytime...

Glitter and Shimmer Responsibly: Makeup Tips for Sparkle

What a year 2018 was! I brought it to a close by sharing my best makeup and beauty tips on various morning shows throughout the Midwest. Glitter, shimmer and glow looks are trending but how can you execute them in a way that doesn't make you look like a hot mess? Trust me, I've been there. Back in my teens (and probably early 20's) I used to swim in glitter, leaving trails of it behind me, especially on anyone's face I happened to kiss. We're going for something better now though: the elegant way to glitter, shimmer and glow!

So, I suited up in this sharp LAHIVE outfit to visit the set of Better Kansas City at KCTV to talk about glittery looks and application techniques. Thankfully, I had Miss Belinda Post as my host! I've done beauty segments with men before, which makes for funny moments but it's not as fulfilling as sharing your favorite makeup products with a gal pal.

Making it in NYC: Mentally & Physically

I officially moved to New York City when I was 24 years old. I already knew the city pretty well as I used to drive down into the city during my college years at Cornell University. Back then, a 5-hour drive seemed like nothing to experience an exciting weekend in the big city.  The summer before my junior year, I was accepted into a psychology internship at Cornell Weill Hospital and got to spend the entire summer living in the West Village and working hard at a job in line with my major.

Gosh, that was a long time ago! Here I am now, going on 15 years of living in this crazy city! Who knew I’d never leave? I fell in love with fast pace, forward thinking, urban lifestyle that’s unavoidable here. You either love it or you don’t and that’s what separates the “visitors” from the real New Yorkers. They say 7 years classifies you as a legit New Yorker. By that time, you’ve probably seen enough to either pack up your bags and leave or decide it’s home sweet...

I Tried Ultherapy for Tech Neck

Call me crazy but I tried an ultrasound energy treatment to get rid of my tech neck! It's called Ultherapy (also known as Ulthera) and it's a non-invasive anti-aging treatment that "potentially" helps the skin to tighten, firm up, lift up, and even become smoother in texture. I use the word potentially in quotation marks because this is how Ultherapy's own marketing materials position their claims. And I will admit, right off the bat, that my results were not dramatic...but I did see a change.

These days we're used to seeing such dramatic results that it can be shocking when the results are more subtle. It's also fair to say that Ultherapy results vary by person. For the most part, people who try it experience a tightening of the skin and less sagging.

You can see my results for yourself and tell me what you think. Watch my video below documenting my treatment and my results at three and six months out.

Me + Walgreens + 2018

So I've been waiting to share this news on my blog! I had the incredible opportunity to work with Walgreens on this wonderful New Year health campaign that you might see as commercials and digital ads online. Let me know if you catch me squacking away at you. Send me a screen grab or reach out to tell me what you think!

I'm really honored to have worked on this campaign because I literally grew up on Walgreens! In Missouri, it was our main pharmacy and quick-shop that was on every corner and STILL IS! When I moved to New York, there were so many other phamarcies up here but I made sure to exclusively shop at Walgreens because it reminded me of home. Your roots are your roots, right?

Have you tried any of Walgreen's NICE products? We featured a lot of them in this campaign and I was lucky enough to bring a bunch home after the shoot! Wondering if you have any favorites.

Thanks again for watching! xo, Bianca Jade

LED Light Therapy: Look Younger, Better!

We've all heard of LED Lights and seen them as part of Christmas decorations and blinking signage. But did you know LED lights, originally developed by NASA, are doing lots of good in the beauty and health worlds? I'm so excited to bring you this report because this technology offers a relatively inexpensive way to look younger and get fitter. My favorite items are the anti-aging wands and mask but seriously all of them are wonderful and work well. Check out the video below... LED Lights are essentially wavelengths of colored light energy and each color does something different. Some colors are more therapeutic than others. The research is fun to do and I had a blast testing many devices on myself but I have to be honest and say I wish I could've tested even more colors and gadgets. If you happen to know of ones I don't mention here, please let me know in the comments section.  The LED light products you'll read about here are all under $100 and exceptionally easy to...

Most Comfortable Fall Styles

I recently appeared on CT Style to talk about fall fashion trends built for comfort. Watch the video above! We see pictures of celebrities and popular fashion bloggers in amazing outfits, strutting down the street, all the time. But are they really comfortable? Because most high end and experimental fashion is NOT. While I have die hard respect for the fashion world and 'fess up to wearing uncomfortable looks myself (in my quest to slay), it's just not fun being in a state of discomfort. Because even though you might look like a million bucks all you're really thinking about is changing the moment you get home. Or in my case, removing your heels under the table when you think no one is looking. I can't bear heels that pinch my toes! Every brand featured in the video above is one of my favorites for making pieces that feel good on your body. None of it is sponsored...just things I discovered on my own. When I moved to a new apartment recently, I re-assessed my wardrobe and...

What To Do In Woodstock NY

Make Woodstock your next weekend getaway this summer! Why? Because it's AMAZING there, on top of being the legendary home of the Woodstock festival. This is where some of the best musicians of all time rocked out and made a name for themselves. It's also just a really nice place to explore and disconnect from your life. WATCH the video below that I made of my favorite things to do and see in Woodstock. I went to Woodstock because my publicist was having a 30th birthday party Upstate. And before all our friends gathered together for it, I went exploring! I ate, I shopped and caught some rays on a giant inflatable swan at my hotel. I made a video about that too, RIGHT HERE. As you can see from my video diary, there's so much to do in Woodstuck but my favorite part was walking around the town and hopping into vintage stores. The flea market on Maple Lane right in the center of town was incredible! From flourless peanut butter cookies to 1904 St. Louis...
